Good and Evil
By Ben Heath

In order to conquer Evil and Tyranny, one must first understand what Evil is and how it operates.
What exactly is Evil? Where did Evil originate? Why is their Evil in the World? Who is responsible
for spreading Evil? What methods does Evil use to gain control?

Now these might seem like silly questions to some but if they were silly why would God say,
“Woe
unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness.”
(Isaiah 5:20) It is true that many people even many Christians do not understand Evil and its
operations, which causes many to support Evil without realizing that they are.

According to the Bible, “Evil” means: to be against God, His Word, or His Commandments.

In His Word, God explains to us in detail what is “good” and what is “evil”. The reason many
people even many Christians cannot properly discern between “good” and “evil” is because most
people are Biblically Illiterate. They don’t understand the Bible because they’ve never been taught
the Bible book by book, chapter by chapter, and verse by verse, by their Pastors, Ministers, and
Priests.

So without the knowledge of the truth many are deceived into supporting Evil thinking they are
doing the right thing.

One reason it is difficult for many to discern between good and evil is because Evil masks itself as
being good. For example: The Communist’s in the old Soviet Union gained followers by portraying
itself as being for the “Working Class”, when they were really seeking to enslave the “Working
Class.” It’s the same with the Liberals in our own country who say they are for the working class,
but they oppress the working class by continually raising our taxes. Many people buy into these
lies because they do not verify whether or not such groups have legitimate intentions or not. The
Book of Proverbs warns us to look past mere words and promises. It says,
“The simple believeth
every word: But the prudent man looketh well to his going”
(Proverbs 14:15).

Origin of Evil

So let us not be someone who believes anything they hear. Let us understand Evil by finding its
origin. The day Evil and Tyranny began was the day when the beautiful arch-angel Lucifer said
within his heart:

“I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of GOD: I will sit also upon
the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of
the clouds; I will be like the MOST HIGH.”
                                                                                                                   --Isaiah 14:13-14

Before Lucifer had this Evil desire to steal God’s throne, he was a very good angel. In fact, Lucifer
means: the bright and morning star. The only other described in the Bible as a bright morning star
is Jesus Christ. That lets you know how perfect Lucifer was. In fact, there was a time
“When the
morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy”
(Job 38:7). Yes, I know it’s
hard to imagine, but long ago Jesus and Lucifer were once very close.  In the book of Ezekiel God
says to Lucifer:

“Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. Thou hast been in Eden,
the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering…Thou art the anointed cherub
that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast
walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou was perfect in thy ways from the
day that thou wast created, til iniquity was found in thee.
                                                                                                                 --Ezekiel 28:12-15

As you can see from this verse, God blessed Lucifer with virtually everything. He was quite a
spectacle. He had beauty, wisdom, and honor, but hat wasn’t enough for him, he lusted for more
power and control. He wanted to be God!

So, when this evil formed within Lucifer’s heart, he became the Enemy i.e., Satan, the Devil, and
the old Serpent (Revelation 12:9), and the battle between Good and Evil began.

The lesson to learn here is that it was pride in self that caused Satan to bring Evil into the world
and it is pride in self that continues to bring Evil into the world. Whenever one ceases to give
honor and glory to the Creator for everything that he has, pride takes control of him. So, the origin
of Evil is: mans pride and mans rebellion against God. And why is it important to understand these
things? Because if you are to overcome Evil, you must know what it is and when it originated.

A good warrior always seeks understands as much as he can about his enemy.
