Mysteries of the Kingdom
By Pastor Ben Heath

Have you ever stopped and thought about why Jesus uses the phrase: “He that hath ears to
hear, let him hear.”
(Mark 4:9) And have you ever wondered why Jesus spoke many times in
parables? Well, He did so for a very specific purpose. He wanted some people to understand
certain truths concerning the Kingdom of Heaven but other’s He did not want to understand.
Why?

Well, God’s Kingdom like many earthly governments guards certain secrets and entrusts them
only with individuals who can be trusted for the care and preservation of the Kingdom. Let us
allow Jesus to explain this:

And the disciples came, and said unto Him, “Why speakest Thou unto them in
parables?” He answered and said unto them, “Because it is given unto you to know the
mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.” –Matthew 13:10-11

What mysteries is Jesus talking about? And what secrets are being kept from the majority of
people? A few of them are:

    • The mystery of what really happened in the Garden of Eden and what the “original sin”
was. It certainly wasn’t eating an apple…(Genesis 3; Matthew 13:36-39; II Corinthians 11:
2-3) See Audio on Revelation Ch.12

    • The mystery of the “first earth age” when everything was perfect prior to Satan’s Great
Rebellion before the “earth became void and without form”. And no, we are not talking
    about Noah’s flood… (Genesis 1:1; Isaiah 45:18; II Peter 3:5,6; Ezekiel 28; Isaiah 14)

    • The mystery of the 10 Lost Tribes of Israel and where they are today. There are untold
millions of them…(Genesis 28:14) Request our Free Book explaining this mystery

Throughout our “Audio Bible Studies” we will from time to time touch on and expound upon the
Mysteries of God’s Kingdom. So I encourage you to dig into the meat of God’s Word and find
out for yourself what these mysteries are. Life is so much more exciting when you know what’s
going on and why things are happening the way they are. To miss out on these mysteries is to
miss out on a truly blessed and meaningful life. (Matthew 6:33)

I can tell you this. You will most likely not learn the Mysteries of the Kingdom by attending a
university or a seminary. Why? Often times these places cover over the “mysteries” by
teaching the doctrines and traditions of men rather than teaching the meat of God’s Word line
by line. (Matthew 15:8-9) Traditions of men can’t help you understand, only the Holy Spirit can
open your mind to the treasures of God’s Word if you ask, seek, and knock. Meaning we need
to pray for understanding, study the Word, and be persistent until we have that understanding.

Our Heavenly Father will only reveal the “mysteries” to those who make a sincere effort in
trying to understand Him, His emotions, and His feelings.

If attending a university and receiving a degree were all that was necessary, then why could
not the Scribes and Pharisees understand the Mystery of Christ’s first advent? I mean they
went to the best religious universities around but many still rejected Jesus as the Christ! How
ironic it was that many who could understand the Mysteries of God’s Kingdom were farmers,
fisherman, and carpenters – just common people. They didn’t have all kinds of fancy letters
after their names. But this they did have, they had
“eyes to see and ears to hear.”

Indeed it is amazing how that many of the wisest and most intelligent people cannot understand
the Mysteries of God’s Kingdom but a person of average intelligence can. You see it doesn’t
take a rocket scientist to understand Christ’s parables; all it takes is for one to think innocently
and naturally as a child.

As it is written:

“I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because Thou hast hid these things
from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.” –Matthew 11:25

You can find out what really happened in the Garden of Eden and many other Mysteries of
God’s Kingdom and be one of the richest people in the world – if you make a sincere effort. It
doesn’t matter what amount of worldly prestige and wisdom you have. The Lord is calling out
common people to serve in His Kingdom. Can He trust you with the knowledge of His Kingdom?

He that hath ears to hear let him hear!
“Because it is given unto you to know the
mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them
it is not given.”

11
